Alan Cumming wants Donald Trump to join the cast of The Traitors.

"Well, I'm sure our president would be very good on the show," Cumming said Sunday in the Emmys press room, after the reality show won the award for Outstanding Reality Competition Program. "I'm sure he'd have a little chaos and turmoil and treachery, so maybe he'd like to come on and be paid for that, probably better than he gets as president."

The actor has hosted the U.S. version of the series since it debuted in 2023.

In it, players practice a lot of treachery and deceit, as they play what's billed as "the ultimate murder mystery game," in which the contestants work together to build an impressive prize fund. At the same time, though, some of them have been labeled Traitors, while others are among the Faithful. Both teams have the goal of eliminating one another, because, if a traitor wins, they will steal the pot for themselves.

For the record, American presidents earn $400,000 per year; Winners of the most recent season of The Traitors split a pot of $204,803 four ways for a few weeks of filming.

A frequent critic of Trump, who's specifically cited the president's treatment of the transgender community, Cumming said previously that the idea of The Apprentice host-turned-politician or even someone from Trump's world coming to his series, was "not appetizing" to him.

"I think that is too soon — far too soon," he told Vanity Fair in January. Also, there's people you think, 'You're still too toxic. You're a toxic influence. There are baddies, like Tom [Sandoval] came with his baggage, but it's on a different level of toxicity."

The Good Wife alum also took home the award for Outstanding Host for a Reality or Reality Competition Program at the Creative Arts Emmys last weekend. It was his second win in a row in the category.
