Britney Spears shared a cute throwback for fans with a sweet message about how much she loved teaching kids to dance. While the photo in question isn't from an actual dance class, she left a caption that said, "Yes I used to teach dance … I'm itching to teach again !!! 🌹🌹🌹"
It turns out the photo was actually from a photo shoot with Herb Ritts, the famous photographer who has taken pictures of icons like Madonna, Michael Jackson, and Cindy Crawford.
In the photo, Spears smiled brightly for the camera in a long, pink dress that featured gauzy sheer material and spaghetti straps. She wore high-heeled dance shoes with ribbons that wrapped around her ankles.
Two little girls in light pink leotards and tutus flanked the "Gimme More" singer while posing on their toes with their arms up in the fifth position. Both girls smiled brightly for the photo, which was part of a Vogue cover shoot in 2001.

It turns out that the girl on the right in the photo is Ashley Benson, who is now 35 years old. Just 11 at the time, she has fond memories of her time on set with the pop superstar. So when she saw Spears had shared the photo, she re-shared it and talked about her experience.
Benson captioned the photo, "When I got the call that I would be shooting a September vogue cover with @britneyspears and Herb Ritts I was beyond thrilled. I was 11 years old and the biggest Britney fan. My mom and I drove up to LA and spent all day with her. She was incredibly nice and sweet and that had made my entire year. What a fun throwback."

It didn't take long for Ashley Benson's co-stars to see the repost and react to the iconic photo. Ashley Mitchell, who starred with Benson in Pretty Little Liars, simply wrote, "Wow."
Benson's Spring Breakers co-star, Vanessa Hudgens, wrote, "This is wild." Paris Hilton left a heart-eyes emoji.
Several fans commented on how Spears posted the photo as if she was Benson's dance teacher, with one writing, "So she wasn't teaching dance class? Lol."

Was Britney Spears a Dance Teacher?
It turns out that Spears was never a professional dance teacher, but she has taught children and fans how to dance. In 2016, she posted now-deleted photos to Instagram from her time as a guest teacher at Los Angeles' Rockit Dance Studio after she stopped by to teach a few moves.
That same year, she appeared onBritish talk showLoose Women, to teach the women a dance during a segment. This is just one of many times Spears has taught her fans how to perform her famous moves. In one Instagram clip of her doing just that, Spears looked like she was enjoying herself.
