British musician Morrissey has canceled two shows this weekend after reporting receiving a death threat.
On Friday, the 66-year-old "Suedehead" singer's Instagram account announced the cancellation of his shows at Foxwoods Resort Casino in Ledyard, Conn., and MGM Music Hall in Boston.
"Due to recent events and out of an abundance of caution for the safety of both the artist and band, the upcoming shows this weekend at Foxwoods and MGM Music Hall have been cancelled," the statement reads. "All tickets will be refunded automatically at your original point of purchase. We appreciate your understanding."

The cancellations follow an alleged death threat Morrissey received in Canada, according to CBS News. A 26-year-old Ottawa man made the threat online before the singer played in the city, police told the outlet. Morrissey ultimately performed as scheduled at CityFolk Festival on Sept. 12.
MGM Music Hall also released a statement on Instagram, writing: "In recent days, there has been a credible threat on Morrissey's life. Out of an abundance of caution for the safety of both the artist and band, tomorrow's engagement at the MGM Music Hall at Fenway has been cancelled."
Representatives for Morrissey, CityFolk Festival, and the Ottawa Police Service did not immediately respond to EW's request for comment.
Rolling Stone reported that the suspect, identified as Noah Castellano, was accused of making the threat on Bluesky on Sept. 4 under the username "guy who gets shot in the head one hundred thousand times a day."
The outlet said that Castellano allegedly threatened, "Steven Patrick Morrissey when you perform at TD Place here in Ottawa next week on the evening of September 12th, 2025 at about 9pm, I will be present at the venue in the audience and I will attempt to shoot you many times and kill you with a very large gun that I own illegally."
The same outlet reported that Castellano posted $5,000 bail and was ordered to live with his father near Washington, DC. When asked to comment on being charged with uttering threats to cause death or bodily harm, Castellano told the Ottawa Citizen, "I'm not interested."
Morrissey most recently performed at Radio City Music Hall in New York City on Sept. 16. His next show is now scheduled to take place at The Met Philadelphia on Sept. 23. He has 26 additional shows left on his current tour, which spans both North and South America.

Morrissey is best known for his tenure with the independent rock band The Smiths in the 1980s. He has released 13 solo studio albums since the band's breakup in 1987. He is expected to debut his album You're Right, It's Time in the near future, though a release date has not yet been announced.
