Reba McEntire returned to her show-stopping copper hue and Parker Posey and Kathryn Hahn both showed off beautiful auburn highlights. Britt Lower, Hannah Einbinder, Aimee Lou Wood, Molly Gordon, Sharon Horgan and other stars experimented with different shades of red as well.Celebrity hairstylist Michelle Hong tells Parade that red hair is trending for fall 2025, and has been highly requested in her salons in recent months. This Red Hair Color Is Trending for Fall 2025, According to a Celebrity Colorist
"There's a vast range of redhead shades, from a light strawberry blonde to a deep copper and going into a darker red," Hong says about what she's seeing trending for fall 2025. She recommends discussing with your stylist which shade would work best for your features and lifestyle before going red.

Reba McEntire at Emmys 2025Who Can Wear Red Hair Color?
"A lot of people can wear it actually," Hong tells Parade. "Most people with fair skin could potentially carry any of those red tones." She recommends finding the right shade with your stylist based on your skin tone and eye color, and also consider what will work best for your hair texture.
"Since most people have colored hair already, the transition has to be done correctly. If your previous color is blonde, to transition to a deeper coppery hue is probably a little bit easier than to go to a really deep red," she says.
People with olive or tan skin and warm undertones should avoid going too red, Hong explains. She also recommends that you consider your lifestyle before becoming a redhead. "If you're someone who dresses up glam all the time, puts on makeup, you can probably wear a little bit more vibrancy in your hair color," she shares. "But if you prefer a more natural look and you don't like to do a lot of maintenance, it may not be for you."Related: This Trending Hair Color Is the Perfect Low-Maintenance, Chic Look at Any Age

Red hair requires more maintenance because the color fades more quickly than most other colors, Hong says, explaining, "It's more of a regimen than a wash-and-go lifestyle." People who swim often and work out a lot may also reconsider going red, since those activities will cause the color to fade. "It's kind of like your nails—if you don't do tons of dishes, your nails will last last longer, the color will last if there's less wear and tear," she explains.
She advises a good shampoo and conditioner for color-treated hair with UV protection as well as regular maintenance at the salon at least every six weeks to eight weeks. Otherwise, your roots are likely to show and "the ends, which are the porous part that fades out and oxidizes, after several weeks it's just not going to be as rich of a color."
