Biles attended Day 1 of the event finals at the world gymnastics championships on Saturday, Oct. 24.
"It actually makes me so nervous, especially with the build-up music. I felt like I was was getting ready to compete. I was like, 'Why am I so nervous right now?'" Biles said in an interview with the public address announcer before the competition began.
"But it's nice to be in the atmosphere again."
Biles is the most decorated gymnast in history, male or female. She has 11 Olympic medals, seven of which are gold, and 30 medals at the world championships. The 30 world medals, and her 23 world titles, are also records for any gymnast.
Biles is still weighing whether she wants to compete again at the 2028 Summer Olympics in Los Angeles . Asked what she's doing in the meantime, Biles called her life "a little bit of controlled chaos." She is busy working with sponsors and charitable projects, and met with a group of about 15 kids before event finals began.
Biles also supports her husband, Indianapolis Colts safety Jonathan Owens , attending most of his games.
"I'm loving every single minute of it," Biles said of her busy schedule.
Asked what she was looking forward to seeing at these worlds, Biles said, "Team USA." When the P.A. announcer mentioned the U.S. women's silver medal, Biles quickly added, "And gold," referring to Skye Blakely's win in the all-around.
Blakely gave the U.S. its 15th title in the women's all-around at the world championships. Biles has won six of those, a record she shares with men's great Kohei Uchimura of Japan.
"(Skye) is incredible," Biles said. "Watching her come back and just go out and compete for gold is so inspiring to watch."
Biles then did just that, watching the meet in seats just behind the floor exercise podium.
