Initially, the survivors were afraid to come forward, knowing quite well that the Alexander brothers are well connected and privileged. However, they slowly gathered courage and decided to expose them.
According to People Magazine, the brothers were arrested during a raid on their Miami properties on December 11, 2024. A five-week trial was held at a Manhattan federal court this year, where 11 women testified that they were r*ped and drugged by one or more brothers over 13 years. According to the Miami Herald, Twin brothers Alon and Oren Alexander, 39, and their older brother Tal Alexander, 40, were found guilty after the five-week trial. US Attorney Jay Clayton said in a statement following the verdict (via ABC News):
"We commend the victims for their courage in coming forward and testifying at the trial. They bravely overcame the pain of reliving the abuses inflicted upon them and, as a result, prevented others from becoming victims."
The brothers were convicted of charges including conspiracy to commit sex trafficking, sex trafficking, and inducing a person to travel to engage in illegal sexual activity. Tal and Alon were convicted of sex trafficking of a minor. Oren was convicted of sexual exploitation of a minor. Alon and Oren were also convicted of sexual abuse of a physically incapacitated person.
The Alexander brothers' sentencing is set for October 27, 2026, in Manhattan federal court.
