The 2025 MTV VMAs air live from New York's UBS Arena on Sunday, Sept. 7 at 8 p.m. ET on CBS and MTV

More musicians will be taking the stage for the 2025 MTV VMAs.

On Tuesday, Aug. 26, MTV announced an additional slate of performers that will be taking the stage at the UBS Arena on Sunday, Sept. 7. Post Malone, Doja Cat, Jelly Roll, Conan Gray and Tate McRae will be part of the star-studded evening.

Malone, 30, will be returning to the VMAs for the first time since 2018. This year, he is up for Best Collaboration with Blake Shelton for "Pour Me a Drink."

Doja, 29, previously hosted the awards show in 2021. This year's award show will be the first-ever televised performance of her new single "Jealous Type." She, along with LISA and RAYE, are nominated in the Best K-Pop category for "Born Again."

Jelly, 40, took the stage in 2024 during the VMAs opening with Eminem. This year, he's up for four awards to take home his first-ever Moon Person. He is nominated for Video for Good, Best Alternative, Best Country and Best Hip-Hop.

Gray, 26, will make his main stage debut this year after appearing on the award show's Extended Play Stage in 2022. He was also the 2020 MTV PUSH artist.

McRae, 22, will also be making her first appearance on the VMAs main stage. She's nominated for four awards this year: Song of the Year, Best Pop Artist, Best Editing and Best Visual Effects.

They will be joining previously announced musicians Sabrina Carpenter, Ricky Martin, Sombr, Alex Warren, J Balvin featuring DJ Snake and Busta Rhymes.

Busta, 53, will be honored with the MTV VMA Rock the Bells Visionary Award, and Martin, 53, is the recipient for the Latin Icon Award this year.

Mariah Carey will be honored with the highly coveted Video Vanguard Award. To celebrate the honor, Carey, 56, is also expected to perform a "show-stopping, career-spanning medley of her biggest hits," per a press release.

LL Cool J will be serving as emcee at the 2025 awards show. He previously hosted the awards show in 2022, joined by Nicki Minaj and Jack Harlow, but this will be his first time flying solo.

Among this year's nominees, Lady Gaga leads the pack with 12 nods, including Artist of the Year, Video of the Year and Song of the Year.

Bruno Mars, Kendrick Lamar, ROSÉ, Sabrina Carpenter, Ariana Grande, The Weeknd, Billie Eilish and Charli xcx are other top-nominated artists.

The 2025 MTV VMAs air live from UBS Arena in New York on Sunday, Sept. 7 at 8 p.m. ET on CBS and MTV. The ceremony will also stream on Paramount+.
