One of the most viral incidents of the 2025 US Open has a happy ending.

A video showing a man stealing a player's hat from a child in the stands immediately triggered outrage around the internet on Thursday and Friday. As Polish player Kamil Majchrzak signed autographs after his five-set upset win over No. 9 seed Karen Khachanov, he offered his hat to a boy but looked away at just the wrong time.

A man standing next to the boy grabbed the hat and nonchalantly stuffed it into the bag of a female companion as the child tried in vain to tell Majchrzak what happened.

It wasn't the best look for society in general.

Fortunately, the internet is occasionally good for something. As video of the incident spread everywhere, Majchrzak saw it and posted a request on his Instagram Stories for help finding the boy.

A day later, Majchrzak was meeting a very happy-looking child and presenting him his own autographed Asics hat.

Unfortunately, Majchrzak was eliminated from the tournament later Saturday after retiring from his third-round match against Leandro Riedi due to an injury.
