The 25-year-old TikTok star got her hair cut and styled by the man behind Jennifer Aniston's famed 'dos, Chris McMillan, best known for the iconic style the actress rocked when she played Rachel Green in Friends.

"POV. The icon behind the Rachel Green haircut asks to cut your hair," read text overlay written by the creator, who uses her platform to open up about her health journey amid her bile duct cancer diagnosis at age 23.

The TikTok shared on Aug. 27 featured Towle sitting in the salon chair while McMillan worked his magic as she documented the styling evolution. She's seen beaming from start to finish, between the blowdrying process to the detailed trimming to the chic styling of her fresh cut.

"It was definitely a pinch me moment having such an icon cutting my hair! He was absolutely amazing and we talked about doing a bob next," Towle told PEOPLE exclusively of her exciting experience with celebrity stylist.

McMillan has been working with Aniston since she starred on Friends in the 1990s, and still have a professional relationship and personal friendship today.

Since their Friends days, McMillan has taken Aniston's locks to new heights — or lengths — from her modern layers worn to the Murder Mystery premiere last March to her breast-covering Rapunzel hair for her recent Allure cover.

With three decades-worth of experience, McMillan's also known for his looks on Hollywood's biggest stars, including Cindy Crawford, Reese Witherspoon and Michelle Williams.

In May, Towle opened up to PEOPLE exclusively two years after she was diagnosed with cholangiocarcinoma, or bile duct cancer, a rare and aggressive cancer that typically affects adults over the age of 50.

"I don't fit any of the demographic factors," Towle told PEOPLE of the disease, which according to the Mayo Clinic, begins in the slender tubes that carry digestive bile and is associated with symptoms like abdominal pain, fatigue, fever and night sweats.

"It's usually found in people with other health issues, or older individuals with a history of hepatitis," she shared at the time. "That's why my oncologist is repeating tests and doing another biopsy — just to make absolutely sure. It's extremely rare in someone my age."

The same day she received the diagnosis, Towle shared the news in a video with her followers on TikTok. "I post everything anyway," she said. "I told people, 'This is going to be a really big part of my life.' "

Viewers resonated with Towle's audience, and flooded her inbox with messages of solidarity: people who had cancer, or who had watched loved ones go through it. Since then, she's amassed nearly 770,000 followers on TikTok and 60,000 on Instagram.

Still, the creator she continues to document her journey online. All together, her videos have garnered more than 18 million views and touched people across the world.

Towle also makes a point to use her platform to debunk stereotypes around cancer.

"People will comment things like, 'You can't have cancer — you still have your hair,' or 'You don't look sick,' " she shared with PEOPLE. "That's been really hard. It's painful when people question something so real just because it doesn't match their idea of what illness looks like."

"Honestly, before going through this, I also had preconceived notions about what cancer looked like," Towle adds. "I thought most people with cancer lost their hair, or that you'd always look really sick or weak. So I understand where some of that comes from."

Now, through sharing her journey online, Towle hopes to challenge those stereotypes not just about cancer, but about invisible illness in general.

"There are always going to be people who don't believe me, no matter how many times I post that I'm in the hospital or getting treatment," she said, adding, "I just hope we can become a little more compassionate as a result."
